The Asheville Summit for Advancing Interprofessional Practice
The UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy will hold a summit on interprofessional practice models on April 1, 2017
, at the Mountain Area Health Education Center in Asheville, North Carolina.
Today’s learners are tomorrow’s clinicians, so we are inviting pharmacy students from across the southeast to join current practitioners in discussing innovative interprofessional models of care delivery.
The summit will provide students, residents, and experienced practitioners with a forum for discussing contemporary issues that will affect their future and current practices, such as the role of pharmacists within collaborative practice models. Guest speakers will describe how pharmacists are pivotal team members in a variety of practice settings, including ambulatory care, community pharmacy, and both rural and urban hospitals. Speakers include pharmacists, physicians and nurses from across the country who are leaders in interprofessional models of care.
Participants can expect to return to their own schools of pharmacy, residency programs, and practices with fresh ideas to advocate for change within the profession.
