October 27th will mark the 25th anniversary meeting of the Anti-Infective Conference. If you are a pharmacy professional who works in the treatment of infectious diseases, or if you have an interest in expanding your knowledge of the treatment of infectious diseases, this meeting is for you! Please, join us at the Greensboro Country Club in Greensboro, NC on Friday, October 27, 2023, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. The day will be filled with wonderful speakers presenting the latest updates and ideas in the field. The conference is ACPE accredited for 5 hours of live CE. Registration will end soon and you do not want to miss this conference. A light breakfast and lunch will be served.   • Elizabeth Palavecino, MD, FACP returns again this year to share microbiology updates that are important for antimicrobial stewardship team-related activities. Dr. Palavecino with Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist is a Professor of Pathology and the Director of the Clinical Microbiology Laboratory.  
  • Melissa Johnson, PharmD, MHS, AAHIVP will bring clarity to the conference in her session, ID Myth Busters. Dr. Johnson with Duke University Medical Center is a Professor of Medicine with the Division of Infectious Diseases & International Health and a Liaison Clinical Pharmacist with Duke Antimicrobial Stewardship Outreach Network (DASON).
  • Five PGY2 Infectious Diseases Pharmacy Residents will present various topics in the Rapid-Fire Journal Club session. (More details about these presenters and their topics coming soon.)
  • Travis Jones, PharmD will entertain us with the ever-popular ID Trivia! This session is a favorite every year; who thought learning could be so much fun? You will work in teams to see which group knows the most. Dr. Jones with UNC Medical Center in Chapel Hill is an Infectious Diseases Clinical Pharmacist.
  • Travis Carlson, PharmD, BCIDP is this year's keynote speaker. By the end of his presentation on Live Biotherapeutic Products (LBPs), you will be able to distinguish LBPs from other microbiota-based therapies and gain knowledge regarding the safety and efficacy of LBPs necessary to treat patients with Clostridioides difficile infection. Dr. Carlson with The University of Texas at Austin College of Pharmacy is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Pharmacotherapy Division.
