Emerging Leaders Program

Presented by NCAP New Practitioner Executive Committee & Health-System Pharmacy Administration and Leadership Residents and Alumni across North Carolina

The purpose of the NCAP Emerging Leaders Certificate is to foster relationships between student pharmacists, current practice leaders, and leadership residents, encourage advancement of leadership skills, and promote growth through leadership topic knowledge for pharmacy students across the state of North Carolina through a series of discussion-based learning sessions.

Program Overview 

This program is designed to help student pharmacists and new practitioners across North Carolina develop their leadership skills, build meaningful professional connections, and prepare for leadership roles in pharmacy. Through five interactive, discussion-based sessions, participants will explore key leadership topics, gain practical insights, and network with pharmacy leaders and peers.

 Who Should Participate? 

  • New pharmacy practitioners across North Carolina.  

  • Pharmacy students seeking leadership growth and professional connections.

Ask a New Practitioner

Any student who cannot attend (or anyone seeking additional guidance) may ask questions and get connected with a mentor. Pharmacy students seeking personalized support in career development, residency preparation, and professional growth can submit questions to the NCAP New Practitioner Forum. Responses are reviewed weekly by members of the NCAP New Practitioner Forum, who will follow up with tailored advice and connection

  • Topics may include:

    • Career path exploration (clinical, ambulatory, industry, academia, etc.)

    • Residency applications (PGY1/PGY2, CVs, interviews, letters of intent)

    • Board certification/licensure preparation

    • Mentorship and networking opportunities
